Salices means a lot to me in many different aspects; the name captures my character, mission as an artist and  the reason Salices is where it is today.

SALICES : the latin term for willow(s)

Pronounced suh-lees-ays

WHY A LATIN NAME?

Latin lies at the roots of many of our languages today including the language of science; thus connects us all through mouths and minds. In a current state of division in our world, I want to create a business that embodies togetherness and supports our science community and their findings.

WHY WILLOW?

Willow is the name of my angel of a dog who I adopted from a ranch in the spring of 2020 when COVID started affecting the United States.

Willow has helped me feel more comfortable with being alone - indoors and outdoors - and gave me the stability, motivation and comfort I needed to start this business and studio.

I believe dogs are life’s greatest treasure.

The willow tree has a long history of being a spiritual symbol and metaphor. Willow trees are extremely strong and deep rooted but have the ability to bend and stretch without any damage.

Willow trees are able to thrive under harsh conditions; they are a wonderful metaphor for resilience, flexibility and inner strength.

I strive to build a business that embodies the essence of willow trees.
